The warming center is a 4-wall StakShax shelter (approximately 3m × 4m) insulated with cardboard and bottle-wall air gaps. Heated by an AirGen-powered radiant panel or Fuze-derived thermal loop. Includes USB charging stations (AirGen V6 powered), a coffee/soup heating station, seating for 12-20 people, and a build table where visitors can make Bloks and earn $0.25 each. This is where people come to get warm, charge their phone, eat, drink, and build.
💡 Ideology
Nobody should have to choose between warmth and dignity. A warming center built from bottles costs almost nothing but gives everything: shelter, power, food, community, and a way to earn. Every bottle in the wall was headed for a landfill. Now it's someone's warm room.
🔧 Methodology
Start with the StakShax 2-room shelter plan. Add insulation (cardboard layer between double-wall Blok construction). Install AirGen V6 for phone charging. Add a Fuze thermal loop or AirGen-heated water radiator for warmth. Set up a coffee/soup station with FreshWater supply if coastal, or rainwater collection if inland. Equip a build table with tools for Blok assembly. Open the doors.

Follow the ss-two-room-shelter plan but with double walls: build an outer wall, leave a 50mm gap, build an inner wall. Fill the gap with flattened cardboard for insulation. This creates an air-and-cardboard sandwich that dramatically improves heat retention.

The Build Lab is where community members become builders. It is a workspace, a classroom, and an employment center. The $0.25/Blok payout provides immediate, tangible income for work that requires no prior experience, no credentials, and no background check. Show up, learn, build, get paid.

Everyone can build. A child. A senior. A person who has never held a tool. The Build Lab is designed so that anyone who walks in can produce their first Blok within 30 minutes. By their fifth Blok, they are a builder. By their fiftieth, they are teaching others.

🔧 Methodology
Build Lab setup is workstation design + materials supply chain + quality control process.

Rivet the corner joint (minimum 4 rivets per corner). Repeat for walls 3 and 4 until all 4 walls form a 2m × 2m box. The wall with the door opening should face the desired direction. Check that all corners are plumb (vertical) — adjust by loosening and re-riveting if needed.
⚠️ Safety: Panels are heavy — team-lift always. Riveting requires eye protection (fragments can fly). Keep fingers clear of rivet mandrels.
💡 Tips: Rivet from the inside at corners — the rivet heads face inward, making the outside smoother and less likely to catch on clothing or tarps.

Drape the roof tarp over the entire roof and down the sides by 15cm. Secure with ratchet straps running over the top and anchored to the base Bloks or ground stakes. In high wind, add extra weight (Bloks, sandbags) on the tarp edges.
⚠️ Safety: Working overhead — watch for dropped panels. If wind is strong during assembly, wait for a lull to place the tarp — wind can turn it into a sail and yank people off balance.
💡 Tips: Angle the roof slightly (raise one side by 5cm with extra Bloks) so rainwater runs off to one side instead of pooling in the center.

Mount the door frame in the wall opening. Hang the door (plywood on hinges or tarp flap with ties). Install the latch (slide bolt, hook, or rope tie). Place the sleeping mat inside. The shelter is now weather-tight, private, lockable, and habitable. Brief the occupant: the shelter is wind- and rain-proof but not permanent — it is the bridge to a better solution. Connect them with the community hub for next steps (Warming Center, Build Lab, food service).
⚠️ Safety: Ensure the door swings outward (code requirement in many jurisdictions — easier to exit in emergency). If using a tarp flap, ensure it can be opened from inside without a tool.
💡 Tips: A small gesture goes a long way: include a bottle of water and a granola bar in the emergency kit. The person moving in has probably not eaten today.
